Come hear an 8-hour performance of John Cage’s Organ2/ASLSP at First Congregational in downtown Kalamazoo! Listeners are invited to attend at any point during this come-and-go event, or stay for its entirety. Light refreshments will be provided in the gathering space (immediately next to the sanctuary).
Organ2/ASLSP is divided into 8 equal sections. For this performance, each will last one hour, starting at the top of each hour (i.e. section 1 starts at 1PM, section 2 starts at 2PM, etc.).
Given our fast-moving times, this project is a form of attempted deceleration, the “discovery of slowness” and the planting of a “musical apple tree” understood as a symbol of confidence in the future.

This is also Vital Organ Project’s 25th concert event! We’ve only been doing this since April 2017, so it’s gratifying to have reached this marker in just over two years. We could not have done it without your support. Thanks for keeping us going!
